A Good First Edition of this collection of political / military cartoons caricaturing German excesses during the early years of the First World War.

Please Note: Several of these cartoons were intended as black propaganda to bolster anti-German feeling and as such have disturbing content.

Book Condition - Good: Hardback, 4to (approx 11 inches / 28.5 cm tall), 95 pages with forty four mono cartoons in Good to Very Good condition.

Moderate to significant general wear to the original grey boards and spine (top 1.5 inches / 4cm of spine cloth missing with camouflaged repair, remainder of spine strip still present but coming loose with lengthy joint splits adjoining the front and rear boards), securely bound but hinges cracked with strips of webbing visible, no previous ownership inscriptions, significant browning to endpapers and text block edges, infrequent generally very light internal foxing (mainly to the plain paper edges), overall internally Good on light to moderately browned paper in a very clean and clear condition.

No dust jacket.
