A two volume First Edition set. Both volumes are from the library of the author, broadcaster and journalist Peter Hopkirk.

Book Condition - Volume One - Very Good: xi + 653 pages with 16 mono illustrations; Volume Two - Very Good: xii + 586 pages with 16 mono illustrations.

Light general wear and bruising to the original green boards and spines (two very small spots of worn cloth to Volume 2 rear board top edge), gilt spine letterings very clear and bright, securely bound (tiny crack at top of Volume 2 front hinge), light to moderate browning to map endpapers, Peter Hopkirk's small library plate on reverse of the front free endpapers, internally both volumes are very clean and clear with faint paper edge browning.

Jacket Conditions (Both Volumes) - Good: Light to moderate edge wear and rubbing with tiny amounts of loss to extremities, Volume 1 top of spine carefully repaired and strengthened to the reverse with document film, light to moderate soiling / foxing (most notably to Volume One rear panel), not price clipped. Both volumes protected by easily removable library covers as photographed.
